Charles Dickens's A Tale of Two Cities is the best selling book of all time, selling over 200 million copies. This is followed by J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings (over 150 million) and The Hobbit (over 100 million). Number four on the list is a Chinese book entitled '红楼梦' (Dream of the Red Chamber) by Cao Xueqin (over 100 million) and then Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None

La novela más vendida de la Historia, 'A Tale of Two Cities', vio la luz en 1859 de la mano de Charles Dickens y se calcula que se han vendido más de 200 millones de ejemplares. La trama se desarrolla en plena Revolución Francesa en las ciudades de Londres y París, siendo la primera un ejemplo de orden, tranquilidad y respeto y la segunda un escenario de agitación, de conflicto, de caos.
